Love can drive us crazy - in both good and bad ways. It gets in under the skin, changes our neurochemistry, turns us into obsessive compulsives, narrows our focus yet broadens our horizons.
Everything about love is a contradiction.
We might become more demanding, or more magnanimous - even both at once. Whatever the outcome, love cannot be ignored. Like an octopus, it grabs hold of every thought, every feeling, every waking moment of our lives and wrestles with our rational mind. It won't let go. It won't give up, until it has transformed us into a dog's dinner of surging emotions and raging hormones.
Love is destructive. After its caress - or, violent embrace - we will never be the same again. We are broken down and recombined into something brand new.
Write about the power of love and tell us why, despite its destructive power, it is essential to the human condition.
