Please discuss what you think about the SEAM Royalty proposal here.
I’ve watched SEAM develop for a couple of years and this is yet another exciting development. From the first welcome email I’ve felt like this is a supportive community that was on to something. SEAM’s aim to create “meaningful entertainment with a positive social impact”, looks well supported by the royalty model. I think it’s particularly telling the model is offered for consultation – an online community will live of die on trust and transparency. I imagine the entertainment business has an “iceberg” shape, where for every 1 hit there is a giant mass under the water of many, many ideas discarded along the way – this looks like a model that will encourage artists to build the iceberg and see if we can make a hit, without fear of being ripped off along the way. Well done.
Thank you, Geoff. It’s taken awhile to get to where we are today, even though the road ahead is even longer! Your support is extremely valuable to us and our future, so I’m glad you feel that this is an amicable approach.
It’s always tricky to strike a balance between investors’ interests, SEAM’s interests, and those of the Artistic community. No doubt, we will need to recalibrate this along the way. Nevertheless, we are trying to make Artist remuneration a generous portion of the pie without upset the other parties too much.
Thanks for the feedback, too. Much appreciated.
